Neighborhood House High Point Center: A Revolution in Green Design
In celebration of the new Neighborhood House High Point Center the Seattle Architecture Foundation and Cascadia's Seattle Chapter are showcasing it with a FREE Hard Hat Tour on Monday, November 9th at 10:30a.m.
The 20,000 square foot project features the largest solar panel array atop a building in the entire state of Washington. 256 photovoltaic panels and a ground source heat pump will provide green energy to the center that is designed to meet LEED Gold standards.
Architects Sally Knodell, LEED AP and Matt Eaton with Environmental Works will give us a sneak peek at the Center and provide expertise on non-profit environmental design.
The tour begins at the High Point Center, 6400 Sylvan Way, SW, Seattle, WA 98126. This tour is FREE but spaces are limited and you must register in advance.

The individual and collaborative process of collecting, practicing, evolving themes tectonically will be explored via a select group of projects of varying scale and complexity. Family life, bike frame construction, student design/build projects will be intertwined with projects of technical resolution on the highest order. Life, design and construction will be presented as inseparable.
Dan Wheeler, FAIA is one of 6 principals of the 14 person architectural practice of Wheeler Kearns and is Professor of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has served as Interim Director of the UIC School of Architecture and The Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts. He previously worked in the Offices of Machado Silvetti Architects, Boston, and was a studio head at SOM Chicago. He is a Graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design.
This lecture is jointly sponsored by the University of Washington Department of Architecture and the College of Built Environments. It is free and open to the public.

on Tuesday, November 10, at 7:00 p.m. on KING5.
We will be sewing 25 stockings for (15) boys and (10) girls, ages 12-18, and filling with hygiene items, games, toys, gift certificates, and candy. Come by Haworth Showroom to sew and decorate stockings, fill them with all the donations, listen to our guest speaker from Team Child, and share in some holiday cheer provided by Haworth.
